DepEd picks Khan Academy to Improve Student Scores

< 1 min read

The Department of Education (DepEd) in the Philippines has partnered with Khan Academy to provide digital learning materials to around 1,000 public schools. This agreement, signed by Education Secretary Sonny Angara, aims to enhance Filipino students’ competencies, especially in math, science, and reading, to improve their scores in the 2025 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) exams. While immediate results may not be visible, improvements are expected by 2029. Many Filipino students already use Khan Academy’s resources, which are popular on YouTube and its app.
