An 11-year-old girl from Tennessee, Brynlee Henderson, is recovering from the La Crosse virus, a mosquito-borne illness. She first showed symptoms on August 31 while on vacation in South Carolina, experiencing a 103-degree fever, headaches, and extreme sensitivity to light. After her family returned to East Tennessee for medical care, doctors confirmed the virus. Brynlee struggled with daily activities due to brain swelling but was released from the hospital on Thursday. Her family, despite taking precautions like using bug spray, is now urging others to take additional measures against mosquito bites, especially in areas with standing water.
