The Bucks County Police Department has arrested 17 child predators this year as part of its ongoing Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigations, officials confirmed during a press conference on Tuesday.

The announcement was made by Bensalem Township Police alongside District Attorney Jennifer Schorn, Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo, and Director of Public Safety William McVey, highlighting the department’s sustained commitment to protecting children from online exploitation.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, the arrests include six suspects for possession or distribution of child pornography, five for soliciting sex with a child, and six for soliciting sex and traveling to meet children.

District Attorney Schorn commended the tireless work of investigators, stating: “Although these 17 men were unrelenting in their pursuit of children for their own deviant sexual gratification, the Bensalem Township Police Department was unrelenting in pursuing them, and my office will be unrelenting in their prosecution. There is no more worthy cause than protecting our children.”

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office revealed that over the past three years, Bensalem police have made 49 arrests related to child predator investigations involving unlawful contact with children and related offenses.

Director McVey reaffirmed the department’s commitment to combating online exploitation, saying, “Our officers are dedicated to tracking down offenders who use technology to exploit children.

There are no jurisdictional boundaries for child predators; if they contact our children from anywhere, we will continue to hold them accountable.”

This operation underscores a firm stance against crimes targeting children, reinforcing the principles enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), which mandates the protection of every child from all forms of sexual exploitation and abuse.

Through initiatives like these, Bucks County continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child’s right to safety, dignity, and protection is upheld both online and in the community.
