February 6 2024- A 53-year-old man and his child are in custody after the child took a stolen gun from his father’s car and fatally shot a 10-year-old in Sacramento County, California. The incident occurred in the Foothill Farms community when the man sent his son to retrieve cigarettes from the car. The boy, instead, took a gun from the vehicle, bragged about it, and shot the victim before fleeing to a nearby apartment. Deputies found the victim bleeding from the head and neck, administering life-saving efforts until first responders arrived. Despite their efforts, the child was pronounced dead at the hospital.
