Kogi Teacher Dies After Brutal Assault Over Pupil Discipline, Sparks Manhunt for Suspects

The teacher, Maryam Usman, worked at Brains Minds Nursery and Primary School in Ugbamaka, Olamaboro Local Government Area. She reportedly died on June 25, 2026, days after the incident.
According to police reports, the attack happened on June 18 when a man identified as Abdullahi Ishaka, alongside two women, allegedly stormed the school. They were said to have assaulted the teacher over disciplinary action taken against a pupil.
