JD Vance, Wife Usha Welcome Fourth Child as Family Celebrates New Arrival

United States Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, have welcomed their fourth child, a baby boy, marking a joyful milestone for the family.

The vice president announced on Monday that their son, Alec Neel Vance, was born on Sunday morning. Sharing the news on social media, Vance said both mother and baby were doing well following the delivery.

“Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother,” he wrote, while expressing appreciation to the doctors, nurses and medical staff at Walter Reed Medical Center for the care they provided.

The couple’s three older children, Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel, have already embraced their new role as older siblings, reflecting the importance of a supportive family environment as children adjust to the arrival of a new baby.

According to the Associated Press, Alec’s birth is believed to be the first time in more than 150 years that a sitting US vice president has welcomed a child while serving in office.

US President Donald Trump also congratulated the family, describing the newborn as “a perfect baby boy” in a message shared on social media.

The birth comes as Vance has continued to advocate for family life and higher birth rates in the United States. In a recently published book, he revealed that Usha had initially been hesitant about having another child before eventually deciding to expand their family.

The arrival of Alec Neel Vance adds a new chapter to the Vance family’s journey, with the couple celebrating the newest addition surrounded by the excitement of their growing household.
