High Point University loses US Department of Education funding to train teachers

This week, the U.S. Department of Education announced more than $600 million in federal grants to train and recruit teachers would be cut, specifically for diversity, equity, and inclusion. These are teachings former Guilford Education Alliance President Zitty Nxumalo thinks are necessary.

“Education is the foundation of everything,” Nxumalo said. “Teachers are who plant seeds within us as children, and those seeds can led us to freedom, prosperity and wealth and an opportunity to really experience the world.”
