‘It’s a Good Feeling’: LaMont Cole Returns to his Roots for 1st Day Leading Baton Rouge schools

On the first day of school at Capitol Middle School, LaMont Cole, the new superintendent of the East Baton Rouge Parish school system, greeted students warmly as they arrived. Cole, who is a former student and principal of Capitol Middle, was eager to return to his roots. He spent five years as an English teacher at the school and two years as its principal, making a point to stay visible and engaged with the school community.
