Middle Schoolers Create Over 20 Fake TikTok Accounts Impersonating Teachers in Chester County

< 1 min read

Middle school students at Great Valley School District in Chester County created over 20 fake TikTok accounts impersonating their teachers, causing stress and emotional hardship to the teachers involved. Superintendent Daniel Goffredo expressed disappointment and emphasized the misuse of technology by students who should appreciate their teachers’ dedication. The district confirmed that several middle school students were responsible for the accounts, but legal action was limited because the activity occurred outside of school and on personal time, falling under free speech rights. The district took disciplinary action within school limits, including assemblies and outreach to families, and removed teachers’ photos from the online directory for protection.
