NYC Could Ban Cellphones in Schools by 2025, Chancellor Banks Says

< 1 min read

The Oklahoma Supreme Court has ruled the nation’s first publicly funded religious charter school, St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual Charter School, unconstitutional. This decision overturns the board’s controversial 3-2 vote in June 2023 that approved the school’s application. Attorney General Gentner Drummond had cautioned that funding such a school violated state law and could result in legal challenges and expenses. Governor Kevin Stitt supported the school, arguing it promoted religious liberty and educational options, but the court’s ruling represents a setback for using taxpayer funds to establish the school.
