This decision follows the retirement of current superintendent Kimberly Hankins. With extensive experience in Alaska’s education sector, including roles as superintendent in the Lower Yukon School District and various administrative positions, Anderson holds a Master’s Degree in Secondary School Administration from Montana State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Harvard University. His selection involved a thorough process including multiple interviews and consultations with stakeholders, reflecting the board’s careful consideration in making this decision.
