8-Year-Old Girl Becomes Brother’s Lifeline in Brave Sickle Cell Transplant Journey

Isabella Brooks, 8, was commended for her bravery in donating her bone marrow to her nine-year-old brother, Isaiah, who is recovering from a bone marrow transplant for sickle cell disease. The siblings from Leeds, Alabama have been close since childhood, playing together and spending time together as a family. However, Isaiah’s sickness has often caused them to be in pain, have to go to the hospital in an emergency and miss school for long periods.
