A troubling incident in Raceland, Louisiana, has left a community shaken after an attempted armed robbery involving three teens escalated into gunfire on December 5.

According to authorities, 17-year-old Kayleigh Gregoire, of Houma, and another female allegedly lured a 17-year-old male victim to a home under the false promise of a sexual encounter. Their real plan? To ambush and rob him, with 18-year-old Payton Scott and a 16-year-old male lying in wait.

When the victim arrived, things took a dangerous turn as gunfire erupted. The victim sustained a bullet graze to his hand and was treated and released from a local hospital. Tragically, Gregoire’s alleged female accomplice was struck twice during the gunfire exchange and remains in critical but stable condition after being airlifted to a New Orleans hospital.

Arrests and Charges:

  • Payton Scott (18): Charged with attempted armed robbery and use of a firearm in an attempted armed robbery. Held at the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex on $150,000 bail.
  • 16-Year-Old Male: Facing the same charges, detained at the Juvenile Justice Facility in Thibodaux.
  • Kayleigh Gregoire (17): Charged as a principal to attempted armed robbery and principal to armed robbery with a firearm. Also held at the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex with bail set at $150,000.

Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as new evidence emerges.
