A children’s cough syrup has been recalled due to possible bacterial contamination. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Medtech Products Inc. is recalling lots of its Little Remedies Honey Cough Syrup after it learned it could be contaminated with Bacillus cereus, a bacterium that can cause foodborne illnesses. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhea starting between one and 16 hours after exposure to a contaminated product.
