Rochester Public Schools (RPS) has launched a pilot program to address chronic student absenteeism. The pilot program was made possible by the Minnesota legislature. According to RPS, after the COVID-19 pandemic, student absences doubled. RPS is one of 12 school districts chosen to participate in the program and was awarded $670,000 over three years. It is currently in its second year.
