How Did a Hitler Baby Photo End Up in a Middle School Yearbook? New Jersey Parents Demand Answers

Authorities and school officials in Paramus, New Jersey, have launched an investigation after a baby photo of Adolf Hitler appeared in a middle school yearbook.
The image was included in a section meant for baby pictures of graduating students at East Brook Middle School. The discovery prompted immediate concern from parents and school administrators.
School officials quickly recalled the yearbooks after the error was identified. They also issued a letter to families condemning the incident and clarifying that the image does not represent the values of the school community.
In the statement, the principal stressed that the photo “has no place in a yearbook created for students” and said its inclusion was unacceptable.
Parents have raised questions about how the image was added and why it was not detected before printing. Many also want answers about the approval process used for the yearbook content.
Local authorities have confirmed that Paramus Police were notified, and the matter has been referred to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office for further investigation.
Officials say the school is working to replace the affected yearbooks and prevent similar incidents in the future.
Paramus Mayor Chris Di Piazza also addressed the issue, stating that the incident does not reflect the values of the town. He urged residents not to generalise the actions of one incident to the wider community.
The investigation is ongoing as officials work to determine how the image entered the publication and whether any policies were violated in the process.
