The debate over whether good leaders are born or made has persisted for years. Historically, leadership was thought to be an innate trait, but current understanding acknowledges that leadership skills can be learned and developed. While some individuals possess natural leadership abilities, it is feasible to acquire and emulate traits and behaviors that contribute to effective leadership and success in one’s career and team. Despite the popular belief that only 10% of managers have inherent talent, the notion of nurturing leadership skills through observation and learning is emphasized in modern discussions on leadership.
