March 6 2024- An Oregon man, Michael Meyden, has been charged with multiple felonies for allegedly spiking smoothies with sedatives and giving them to his daughter’s pre-teen friends. The incident occurred during a sleepover, and the three 12-year-old girls were hospitalized after testing positive for benzodiazepine, a drug typically prescribed for anxiety. The charges against Meyden include causing another person to ingest a controlled substance, applying a schedule IV controlled substance to the body of a minor, and delivering to a minor a schedule IV controlled substance. Meyden pleaded not guilty, and his bail was set at $50,000.
