A one-month-old boy found dead in a hot car in Peoria, Illinois, had a lethal amount of cocaine in his system, which was confirmed as the immediate cause of death by the Peoria County Coroner’s Office. The infant also experienced heat stress, dehydration, malnutrition, and neglect. The mother, Andrea N. Luncsford, has been charged with murder and felony endangerment. The police discovered the unresponsive baby on September 16, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Luncsford was arrested the next day and is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on November 6, with a jury trial set for November 18.
