< 1 min read

In Medicine Hat, Alberta, a shocking crime unfolded on April 23, 2006, when Marc Richardson, 42, his wife Debra, 48, and their 8-year-old son Tyler were found brutally murdered in their home. Marc was stabbed 24 times, Debra 12 times, and Tyler had his jugular vein severed along with multiple stab wounds. The case took a dramatic turn when 12-year-old Jasmine Richardson and her 23-year-old boyfriend Jeremy Steinke were arrested in Saskatchewan. Jasmine was found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder, becoming one of the youngest people in Canada convicted of such crimes. She received a 10-year Intensive Rehabilitative Custody and Supervision (IRCS) sentence. Steinke, who changed his name to Jackson May, was sentenced to life in prison with eligibility for parole after 25 years.
