3-Year-old Girl Found Unresponsive in Hot Car hours After Family Trip to Park, Police Say

A 3-year-old girl in Arizona died after being found unresponsive in a car with an internal temperature of 130 degrees. Buckeye Police reported that the family had returned from a park between 2 and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday and only discovered the child missing from the car around 5 p.m. The girl was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The outside temperature was 107 degrees. Police are interviewing family members to piece together the timeline, and no one has been taken into custody. This incident marks the 30th child hot car death in the U.S. this year and the third in Arizona.
