Stanley Mbadiwe was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court for sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl. The incident occurred in May 2018 around 5 pm in Isolo, Lagos, where Mbadiwe inappropriately touched the victim’s breasts and buttocks. Initially arraigned on July 28, 2021, for defilement, Mbadiwe had pleaded not guilty. However, following a plea deal signed on October 10, 2024, the charges were amended to indecent treatment of a child and sexual assault under Sections 135 and 263 of Lagos State Criminal Law. During the trial, two witnesses testified – the victim and her mother – stating that the defendant had forcibly raped the victim.
