Las Vegas tied a record at 115 degrees Fahrenheit (46 degrees Celsius), while Phoenix set a new daily record with a low of 92 degrees Fahrenheit (33.3 degrees Celsius). Parts of Oregon and California could reach up to 115 degrees Fahrenheit (46.1 degrees Celsius). Meanwhile, on the East Coast, Raleigh, North Carolina, reached a record high of 106 degrees Fahrenheit (41.1 degrees Celsius) with a heat index of 118 degrees Fahrenheit (47.7 degrees Celsius).
