A 15-year-old Guatemalan girl named Débora Rebeca Xi Artola tragically died after accidentally touching high-voltage cables while on a building roof in Alta Verapaz. The electrical shock caused her decapitation. Débora was on the roof with other teens practicing dance moves when she slipped and came into contact with the cables. She fell nearly 20 feet to the ground and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her mother has shared emotional tributes on Facebook, remembering Débora as her “first and great love.”
