A mother and daughter, Tikia Robertson, 50, and Wilneisha Gammage, 27, were arrested for stealing approximately $100,000 from the Avon Park Community Child Development Center. Robertson, the former director, and Gammage face fraud charges following an investigation into suspicious transactions discovered by a new treasurer in May 2023. The investigation revealed Robertson wrote over 80 fraudulent checks to Gammage between 2020 and 2022, totaling $93,116.02. Robertson resigned in May 2023 as an internal investigation began, and a criminal probe was launched in August.
