A childcare center in Cedar City, Utah, Chandara Childcare LLC, is set to lose its license and must stop services by Dec. 4 after a serious incident in October. A child, among 14 children aged 18 months to 5 years, was injured when an electric lawnmower severed several of their toes, requiring emergency surgery. The Utah Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) revoked the center’s license, citing non-compliance with six state rules, including those meant to ensure children’s safety. The incident occurred on October 15, 2024, during a lawnmower operation in the center’s backyard.
