St. Helens Mental Health Professional’s Message to Students: ‘We do Really Support Them’

The St. Helens School District is currently facing a scandal involving allegations of sexual abuse by both former and current educators, which has shocked the community. Recently, St. Helens High School principal Katy Wagner was arrested on charges of criminal mistreatment and official misconduct. In light of the trauma caused by these events, Columbia Community Mental Health’s Executive Director Todd Jacobson emphasized the importance of supporting students and providing a healthy environment. Jacobson offered advice to parents, suggesting they watch for signs of distress in their children, such as restlessness, loss of appetite, or emotional changes.
