Thieves ransacked Wadsworth Avenue Elementary School in South Los Angeles over the weekend, marking the sixth break-in at the school in the past four months. The vandals caused significant damage, overturning chairs, dumping supplies, and stealing or damaging student devices across 24 classrooms. LAUSD Superintendent Alberto Carvalho expressed frustration, highlighting that this is a common issue across the district, with 171 incidents of vandalism, burglary, and theft, including stolen catalytic converters and damaged air conditioning units, just this semester.
