After a disturbing video showed the alleged mistreatment of special needs students at Carver Elementary School in Santa Ana, 11 families are suing the Orange County School District. The video, recorded by a student’s tablet, shows a female teacher yelling at and mocking young children. Alma Moreno, a parent of a special needs child, expressed her shock and heartbreak upon seeing the footage. Her daughter, who has autism, is in a classroom with other special needs students, and Moreno was deeply disappointed to learn that the school staff failed to provide the safe environment she trusted.
