The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) announced that it will stop funding foreign scholarships for Nigerian academics under the TETFund Scholarship for Academic Staff (TSAS) scheme starting January 2025. This decision was made due to the high cost of training in foreign institutions and the increasing number of scholars absconding. The suspension, approved by the TETFund board of trustees, will not affect scholars already participating in the program.
