UNICEF reports 10.2 million primary school-age children and 8.1 million junior secondary school students are out of school in Nigeria, as stated by Dr. Tushar Rane during a stakeholders meeting in Bauchi. Nigeria faces the issue of having the largest number of out-of-school children globally, with only 63% of primary school-age children attending school regularly.
