St. Louis Bus Drivers Hold ‘Sick Out’ After Black Employee Allegedly Found Noose at Work

March 2 2024- Amin Mitchell, an employee at Missouri Central Bus Company, shared videos on Facebook claiming he found a noose near his workstation after an argument with a supervisor. The incident led to nearly 100 school bus drivers for St. Louis Public Schools calling in sick as a show of support, causing almost 60 routes to be without drivers. The protest, termed a “sick out,” followed allegations of racial targeting against Mitchell.
