A 114-year-old Texan is now the oldest living American. Here are 6 lifestyle choices that may have helped her stay healthy for so long.

March 12 2024- Elizabeth Francis, aged 114 years and 217 days, has become the oldest living American, surpassing Edie Ceccarelli who died at 116 years and 17 days. Francis attributes her longevity to her faith in God, while her family believes lifestyle factors are also significant, such as not smoking, cooking from scratch, and maintaining close family bonds. Born in Louisiana, Francis moved to Texas in 1920. She resides with her 94-year-old daughter Dorothy Williams, receiving daily caregiver visits. Despite using a wheelchair since 2017 and experiencing some memory issues, Francis remains mentally alert and recognizes her family. Researchers from LongeviQuest, who verified her age, noted her sharpness during her 114th birthday celebration. While Francis doesn’t claim to have a secret for her longevity, she credits God’s blessing.
