Abia state Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has awarded scholarships to the children of five soldiers killed in an attack at a checkpoint in Aba. He vowed to apprehend those responsible for the soldiers’ deaths and condemned the act as destabilizing. Working with security agencies, Otti pledged to leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice, offering a N25 million bounty for information leading to their arrest. Additionally, he announced automatic scholarships to university level for the deceased soldiers’ children, planning to institutionalize the program for future funding. Brigadier General Olusola Diya reaffirmed ongoing efforts to capture those involved in the crime, detailing the losses suffered during the attack, including burnt vehicles and stolen weapons.
