The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended registration for Direct Entry candidates. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, the board assured DE candidates of the possibility of an extension. The new deadline for the registration of the exam has not been announced, but it is expected to be communicated soon. JAMB stated that Direct Entry registration would not be closing on the current date, allowing candidates to utilize lost days due to office closures during the UTME exercise. Direct Entry registration is for candidates with A-level results who are admitted to universities in the second year. In 2023, JAMB introduced a new verification system for A’Level results due to the discovery of fake results being presented by registrants, which slowed down the registration process. JAMB Registrar, Is-haq Oloyede, listed 13 acceptable qualifications for Direct Entry Registration, including university diploma, Ordinary National Diploma, National Diploma, Nigeria Certificate in Education, Higher National Diploma, and university degree.
