Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State announced plans to recruit 7,000 teachers into public primary schools, as revealed by the Executive Chairman of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, during a press briefing in Ibadan. Additionally, the state government will employ 100 caregivers into the special needs sub-sector. Adeniran stated that efforts had been underway to fulfill Governor Makinde’s promise of recruiting teachers.
