Success Odigoma Ude was sentenced to 14 years in prison by Justice Rahman Oshodi of a Lagos court for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy with hearing and speech impairment. The prosecution proved the case beyond reasonable doubt, stating that Ude assaulted the boy between May and August 2021. Although initially charged with sexual assault by penetration, Ude was found guilty of an attempt rather than a complete offence. The sentence aims to send a message against the sexual exploitation of vulnerable individuals, particularly children with disabilities.
