The Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District achieved the highest ranking in the Syracuse area for the latest statewide assessment tests in English language arts (ELA) and math. It ranked 20th in the state for math with 85% of students proficient, and tied for 26th in ELA with 73% proficiency. Most of the top-ranked schools were located in Downstate New York, particularly on Long Island and in Westchester County. These scores were part of the 2023-2024 assessments for students in grades three through eight, released by the state Department of Education in November.
