A group of 23 TETFUND scholars in Brazil, part of the ARIFA program, have petitioned President Bola Tinubu’s administration for the release of their approved bailout funds without delay or discrimination. They highlighted hardships including unpaid salaries and financial debt, exacerbated by delays in receiving support payments. Despite some of their peers receiving payments, these scholars were excluded from the bailout, leading to questions about the criteria used. They faced challenges in accessing learning centers and suffered from reduced purchasing power due to inflation and currency devaluation.
