NYSC Hostel Wall Collapses in Ekiti, Two Corps Members Injured

Two corps members were injured when a bathroom wall in a female hostel collapsed at the NYSC orientation camp in Ise-Emure, Ekiti. The incident occurred early in the morning as corps members prepared for their baths. The injured were promptly rescued from the rubble and taken to a clinic for medical treatment. According to the NYSC, the situation is now under control, with first responders attending to the injured effectively. The spokesperson mentioned that the injured individuals are in stable condition and receiving care at a tertiary health facility in the state. The NYSC Director-General, YD Ahmed, urged the Ekiti State government to swiftly enhance camp facilities to prevent future occurrences, emphasizing the state’s responsibility under the NYSC Act to maintain camp infrastructure.
