A fire broke out at Bishop Crowther Seminary school in Awka, Anambra state, resulting in the death of one student and destruction of students’ belongings. The cause of the fire remains unknown. The state Fire Service Chief deployed a fire truck to contain the fire, and the school principal expressed gratitude for their intervention. In a separate incident, the INEC office in Ibadan was also gutted by fire. The authorities, including the fire service chiefs and school principals, responded promptly to the incidents. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fires. These incidents highlight the importance of fire safety measures and preparedness in all institutions.
