Paediatricians from the Paediatric Association of Nigeria utilized a creative art competition to raise awareness on childhood immunization, particularly focusing on zero-dose children who have not received any vaccines. The competition aimed to educate children, parents, and communities about the importance of immunization to combat vaccine-preventable diseases. The initiative highlighted Nigeria’s high number of zero-dose children and emphasized the need for collective efforts involving the government, health workers, parents, communities, and traditional leaders to improve immunization coverage and reduce under-five mortality rates in the country.
