A 17-year-old girl alleges she was raped inside Ogudu Police Station in Lagos State. The suspect is a police officer who had promised to help the teenager retrieve her stolen phone. The officer allegedly locked the victim in his office, threatened her with a gun, and raped her. The suspect’s family has reportedly approached the victim’s mother to plead for the case to be dropped. The Area Commander allegedly invited the victim’s mother and asked her to “bury the case.” The victim is reportedly distraught and has expressed suicidal thoughts. The police have claimed that the suspect has fled and his whereabouts are unknown.
