Underage Candidates: JAMB to Limit Physical Interactions with Applicants

To combat extortion and improve service delivery, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is moving to fully automate its services to minimize physical contact with candidates. JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede emphasized that this shift is crucial due to the presence of many underage candidates, aiming to reduce opportunities for exploitation. The board plans to handle interactions online with recorded calls for better monitoring. Prof. Oloyede also addressed reports of unethical practices, urging students to provide evidence against officials or CBT centers involved in extortion. He affirmed that any staff found guilty will face legal consequences, while praising the majority of JAMB staff for their integrity.
