Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) praised the Federal Government for reversing its decision to bar students under 18 from sitting for the West African School Certificate Examinations (WASCE) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) exams. He commended the government for listening to public concerns and requested a rollback of current petroleum pump prices. The policy change means that while age restrictions will apply to the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and university admissions starting in 2025, students will still be allowed to take WASCE and NECO exams regardless of age.
