February 27 2024- A babysitter, Heather Hogan, has been arrested in Live Oak, Florida, on suspicion of severely abusing a 10-month-old infant under her care. Emergency services responded to a call reporting the baby experiencing a seizure, and Hogan claimed the child fell off the couch twice. However, paramedics identified injuries consistent with child abuse, including extensive bruising, a broken clavicle bone, a large neck bruise, and cannabis in the baby’s system. Further examination revealed injuries inside the mouth, various healing bruises, and fractures in the spine and leg. The baby suffered subdural hematomas and lost the ability to see, with medical experts predicting long-term disabilities resulting from the alleged abuse. Hogan faces charges related to the abuse.
