February 27 2024- A 23-year-old man, Azeez Akinpelu, has been sentenced to death by hanging by an Ogun State High Court for killing an eleven-year-old girl, Rokibat Odeyale, in Owode Egba. Akinpelu was convicted on charges of conspiracy, possession of firearms, manslaughter, attempted murder, and murder. The court held that the prosecution proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
