Women’s Centre Investigated Over ‘Finance Issues and Bullying’

Amina Muslim Women’s Resource Centre (MWRC), a Scottish charity supporting women from minority and ethnic backgrounds, is under investigation by the Scottish charity regulator, OSCR. The inquiry follows allegations of financial irregularities, governance issues, and a “toxic” workplace culture. Concerns include discrepancies in financial management, unapproved expenditures, and inadequate financial controls. Despite these claims, Amina’s CEO, Mariam Ahmed, denies the allegations, asserting that they are unfounded and emphasizing the charity’s commitment to transparency and ethical operations. Amina, which provides various support services, continues its activities during the investigation.
