Deputies arrived at a home in Covina, east of Los Angeles, around noon on Sunday and discovered the injured child in the backyard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The girl was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead just before 1:30 p.m. local time.
Investigators identified the dogs involved in the attack as a 10-year-old Rottweiler and a 6-year-old Rottweiler mix, ABC 7/KABC reported Monday. Authorities also removed two additional dogs from the home, bringing the total to four.
