A bill proposed for the 2025 legislative session would dissolve five public school districts in Indiana, including Indianapolis Public Schools.
House Bill 1136 would re-organize any school district where 50% or more of the students are enrolled in charter schools. All of the public schools in the district would then be converted to charter schools.
